Classroom discipline can be the deciding factor in a teacher’s success, independent of their academic competence.

We teachers have noticed a decline in students’ ability to maintain attention and engage with the lesson content. On the other hand, some teachers don’t feel entitled to enforce discipline in the classroom and even ask students for permission before expressing their frustration, for fear of upsetting them emotionally. How can we restore balance in the classroom so that students regain their tenacity and teachers their authority? Let’s explore some possibilities.
